OUR STORY
EYE & CO. Optometry was established by Dr. Y-Nhi Wong, a dedicated local optometrist, wife, and mother, with the mission of delivering a personalized eye care experience tailored to the needs of every individual. Motivated by the support of the community, Dr. Wong chose to realize her dream alongside her husband, creating a unique partnership that combines exceptional optometry with high-quality dental services at FLOSS Dentistry.
At EYE & CO. Optometry, our goal is to provide outstanding preventative eye care in a warm, welcoming environment. We believe that everyone deserves to see the world clearly and to maintain the health of their eyes. Together with FLOSS Dentistry, we strive to ensure you receive comprehensive care that puts your well-being first. DR. Y-NHI WONG
Optometrist + Founder
Dr. Y-Nhi Wong has established herself as a dedicated optometrist since her arrival in Alberta in 2006, where she initially served the community of rural Peace River. Recognizing the importance of family, she later transitioned to Edmonton, intending to nurture her growing family while maintaining her professional aspirations.
Dr. Wong is committed to providing eye care that fosters a warm, community-centric environment, seamlessly blending the personal touch of rural practices with the accessibility of urban settings. Her passion for preventative eye care is complemented by her enthusiasm for working with children, ensuring that their vision health is prioritized from an early age.
Additionally, Dr. Wong takes a special interest in dry eye disease, utilizing her expertise to alleviate discomfort and improve quality of life for her patients. Her discerning taste for stylish eyewear reflects her commitment to not only health but also to fashion, helping individuals find the perfect balance between vision correction and personal style.
Her professional affiliations with the Canadian Association of Optometrists, the Alberta College of Optometrists, and the Alberta Association of Optometrists underscore her dedication to staying current in the field and providing the highest standard of care to her patients.

How do you pronounce your first name, Y-Nhi?
Take a guess! It’s pronounced ‘eenie’.
Where did you grow up?
Friendly Winnipeg, Manitoba.
Which optometry school did you attend?
I’m a proud alumna of the University of Waterloo.
Do you wear glasses?
Yes! I had an eye turn (also known as strabismus) and started wearing glasses when I was four years old.
Do you have any pets?
A super sweet golden-doodle.
If you were stuck on an island and only allowed two foods, what would it be?
Donuts and kimchi ramen.
If you could choose another occupation (besides optometry), what would it be?
To get a job on Top Gear racing and reviewing cars!
Dr. Allyse Curry
Optometrist
Dr. Allyse Curry completed three years towards an undergraduate degree in psychology before being accepted to the University of Waterloo Doctor of Optometry program. Following graduation, she practiced optometry in Medicine Hat for two years before re-locating back to her hometown of Calgary for three years. She resettled to Edmonton in 2017 and now considers Edmonton to be her permanent home.
Dr. Curry started wearing glasses at a young age and is passionate about helping people of all ages maximize their visual function. She believes in providing individualized care and eyewear solutions tailored to fit one's hobbies and personal style. She strives to educate patients and offer strategies to prevent future eye-related problems. She likes keeping up to date with technological advancements and innovations in the eye care industry so that patients can have access the best care available.
Dr. Curry is member of good standing with the Alberta College of Optometrists and Alberta Association of Optometrists. Outside of work, she enjoys trying new restaurants and attending live theater and cultural festivities around the city.

Where did you grow up?
I was born and raised in Calgary, Alberta and moved to Edmonton in 2017.
Which optometry school did you attend?
I graduated from the University of Waterloo in 2012... class of the Jed-Eyes!
Do you wear glasses?
I've been wearing glasses since I was 10 years old.
Do you have any pets?
I have 2 rescue pets: a dog named Ducky and a cat named Star!
If you were stuck on an island and only allowed two foods, what would it be?
Pepperoni pizza and peanut butter cookies.
If you could choose another occupation (besides optometry), what would it be?
I would start a tea shop and blend my own varieties of teas!
What are your hobbies?
My hobbies are reading, travelling, and exploring new coffee shops and restaurants around Edmonton.
Where do you want to travel next?
Nova Scotia! I love the east coast and did my undergrad in Nova Scotia.

My middle name is Whitney and I'm named after the late iconic American singer Whitney Houston!

Baking and spending time with my family.

Dusty pink, light pink and bright pink.

Ramen and coffee.

The Philippines to visit my family.
